About Phyto Sanitary Certificate

A Phytosanitary Certificate (PSC) is an official document issued to verify that plants, plant products, or other regulated items meet the specified phytosanitary import export requirements of the exporting importing country. In India, the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage (DPPQ&S) under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare is responsible for issuing these certificates.

Issuance Process:

Application Submission: Exporters must register on the Plant Quarantine Management System (PQMS) portal and submit an online application for the Phytosanitary Certificate.
Inspection: Upon application, the concerned authorities conduct a thorough inspection of the consignment to ensure it is free from pests and diseases and complies with the phytosanitary requirements of the importing country.
Certification: If the consignment meets all necessary criteria, the Phytosanitary Certificate is issued, facilitating the export of the agricultural commodities.
