Anti-termite treatment during construction is a crucial step to protect buildings from termite infestations, as per IS 6313 Part 2 of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). This standard provides guidelines for pre-construction termite treatment to create a chemical barrier against subterranean termites. Chemicals such as Chlorpyrifos 20% EC or Imidacloprid 30.5SC are commonly used, ensuring long-term protection. Proper application as per IS 6313 Part 2 enhances the buildings durability and prevents costly repairs due to termite damage.

The treatment involves applying approved termiticides to the soil at different stages of construction:

Soil Treatment Applying termiticide solution at excavation trenches, foundation pits, and plinth areas before laying the structure.

Floor Treatment Spraying chemicals before laying the floor slab to prevent termites from entering through cracks.

External Treatment Creating a perimeter barrier by applying chemicals along external walls.

Post-Construction Protection Periodic inspection and reapplication of termiticides, if necessary.
